Orchid Extender now also supports OCX Scripts!

Extender, from Orchid Systems, is often referred to as “the Swiss Army Knife” of Sage 300 add-ons due to the variety of ways it can be used to customize Sage 300. It now has a powerful new tool in its kit.

Previously, Extender allowed you to introduce bespoke business logic by applying (Python) scripts to Sage 300 Views. It now also supports OCX Scripts, which are applied directly to Sage 300 screens. This allows you to do things like adding, hiding or removing fields, tabs, buttons and finders.

Talk to your Sage solution provider, or contact Orchid Systems, to find out more about how Extender can help you get the most out of your Sage 300 site.

3rdParty.info Goes Live

Sage development partner and former Australian Sage 300 (Accpac) and third-party product distributor John Paterson has released a new online directory of Sage 300 third-party products. Designed to make it easy for Sage 300 business partners and users to find the right applications for their business, the site lists hundreds of products from dozens of Sage 300 ISV's. All products on the site have been summarised and categorised and placed in a searchable database. This makes pulling up a short-list of all the products in a particular category a simple process. Each product has a short description of it's functionality and a link to the vendor's product page for more information.

The site does not and will never charge vendors for listing, does not sell anything and does not generate leads. All visitors to the site are directed to the vendor's website or advised to contact their Sage business partner for more information.

"For the site to be really useful, it had to be impartial, which meant creating all the content ourselves - rather than letting vendors create their own content. We also wanted it to be "safe" for everyone to use. Business partners can use the site as a sales tool without fear of current clients or prospects ever being directed to another business partner." Paterson said.

When asked why he would go to the trouble of developing a site with a huge amount of content which generates no income, Paterson replied: "It's a win-win for everyone. Users can easily find the products they need to help run their businesses more effectively, which means business partners will sell more third-party products and that of course means more sales for developers like us."
